About me.

I’ve never done things the way you’re “supposed to.” I founded Coalition Snow, the first and only women-owned and operated ski and snowboard brand that has grown a cult following due in part to our feminist response to the snowsports industry. Long before that, I founded Zawadisha, a social enterprise in Kenya that provides small loans to women through a community-based microlending model.

It’s taken me decades to build all of this—including dropping out of a Ph.D. program— and get to the point where I feel comfortable with who I am and the decisions I’ve made. What I’ve learned is that moving through this world the way that we do is not radical; rather, it’s the social norms and oppressive expectations placed upon us.
